Who made these?Paul McCarty is a visual artist in Pasadena, CA. He finds stray branches and wood pieces who have lost their trees mainly while hiking around the mountains in southern California, or sometimes just on a walk around his neighborhood. He works these pieces down to their essense with dremel, wire brush, sandpaper, rasp, etc., finds the balance points, drills holes and hangs them with braided twine and varnishes them. They're hung with a variety of things to become wind chimes — usually mother-of-pearl or capiz shell discs, bells, metal discs, coins, etc.
It's a labor of love and they're priced with intent that they can get into your homes. They're meant to be durable, but weather will take its toll, of course. If you ever need repairs, please get in touch with me.
